I borrowed a book from my library and opened in ADE 3.0. I accidentally returned it, so went to download it again. When I tried, I received this error message: "No record for this loan is found on this machine, it may have been returned".
I know this was a problem with ADE 2.0, but I'm using 3.0. Is this still an outstanding problem with the ADE software?
I downloaded and installed ADE 4 on my computer with Windows 8.1
The program does not let me print any contents of books at all.
In a book with 1,761 pages, I cannot be expected to precisely use the thumb-button on the scrollbar on the right of the screen to move the page as I read. I would prefer to do what the instructions recommend, and just press the down arrow to scroll a bit. But when I do so, ADE freezes for about 10 seconds, then puts me at the very end of the entire book. From there, pressing the up arrow takes 13 seconds before putting me at the bottom of page 1. This is a new computer with Windows 8.1 and a quad-core 4th gen i7 processor and 8GB RAM. It should be capable of smoothly moving a page up when ADE asks nicely. Any advice to make this software functional?
How do I get kobo to download a book using Adobe?

I downloaded Adobe Digital Edition, signed up, downloaded books. Then I add Kobo and add book in the Kobo library in Adobe Digital Editions program. I syncronized my Kobo with my computer. But still I cannot open books in Kobo. I get the same problem message, "... and is not currently authorized for use with your Adobe ID. Please sign-in with the authorized Adobe ID and try again."
What should I do?

I've got a Sony E-reader. I've downloaded several free books - no problems.
But recently i bought some books on a famous website. I downloaded them with ADE ( and at this moment, on my computer, I can open it and read the books), et then, put them on my e-reader.
When I want to open the books on my E-reader, i'm asked for my Adobe ID and password. And each time, i'm back to that screen that ask me ID and password, i cannot go further (and read my book !!) I'm sure my ID and password are right, cause I can use it to access my account on the website. And there's no error message like "wrong password " or "not recognized"...no, i'm just back to the same screen again and again.
Does someone knows how to solve that problem ? I've contacted Sony as well, but without results so far...

I downloaded ADE today on my Mac but I cannot open it. It is showing up as a disk and is only giving me the option to install but not open. Help.

I read ebooks with Adobe Reader. But lately some books (file type epub) are impossible to open. When trying on my PC (Windows 8) I get the answer ”Unable to open the item. Please contact Sony customer support. Error: document.”. And when trying on my ebook reader Sony PRS-T2 i get the answer ”Protected by Digital Rights Management”.
Moreover, it is the same thing with my android devices (tablet Sony Xperia Z2 and smartphone Sony Xperia ZR), where I use UB Reader to read. My tablet says ”Filformatet stöds inte.” (= The file format is not supported.) And my smartphone says ”Du har inte rätt att öppna den här boken. Kontrollera ditt Adobe ID.” (= You are not allowed to open this book. Check your Adobe ID,)
I have been able to read the ebooks earlier but some months ago (or earlier, I don´t know exactly) this happened. I have a valid Adobe ID and have bought and downloaded the books from big and established book shops.
Do somebody know what has happened? And what I can do, to be able to read the books?
Is there a way to actually talk to someone who might be able to answer a question? I can't get any help with the tutorials. I can download books from the library to my computer, but when I try and transfer them to my Nook I get a message saying I do not have permission. I have been downloading ok until I just got a new computer.

Trying to authorize my PC with Adobe Digital Editions using 'Google' as my ebook vendor. Authorization keeps failing with the error message.
"Incorrect login ID or password for the selected eBook vendor. Please try again"
I know my login details are correct. I have tried omitting the @gmail.com with no luck. I want to be able to import my google play books collection into Adobe Digital Editions.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have Adobe Digital Editions on my computer. It is authorized without an ID. I want to authorize the computer so that
I can transfer e-books from the computer onto a Kobo Reader. I do have an Adobe ID and password.

When I open digital editions with my Kobo Glo plugged in, I get two kobo icons. When I right click on either of them to authorize the device (the only option available to me), I get the error message: activation server error code. Digital editions encountered an error with the activation server. Does anyone know what this means? I can not down load my library books to my kobo glo. Although in Digital Editions it seems that they have been loaded onto my Kobo, however when trying to open the book on the Kobo, I get the "This document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM) and is not currently authorized for use with your Adobe ID....." anyone have an idea?
I am trying to transfer books between old and new laptops. Having copied them to a pen drive I get a computer authorization dialogue box asking for my id and password. However it won't let me enter anything into the boxes. What am I doing wrong?

Allow me to relate a short but painful would-be User Experience.
I have a friend who's nearly 70, who's currently studying Digital Publishing. My friend, let's call her IM, uses an old core2duo iMac running OS 10.68. IM is moderately computer-literate - uses Facebook, Word, Wordpress etc.
For the course of study, IM was referred to an Adobe video about Digital Publishing using the ePub format that recommended viewers download the latest ADE 4
So IM downloaded and installed ADE 4. It installed but of course wouldn't run. So here's the first issue - why doesn't the Installer check system specs Before installing and notify users? Why wait till the hapless user tries to run the application they believe they've successfully installed?
At that point I tried to help, and we downloaded ADE 3 after we read the tech specs from https://www.adobe.com/au/products/digital-editions/tech-specs.html
Which state:
Mac OS
Intel Core™ Duo or faster processor
Mac OS X v10.6 or later
512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
75MB of available hard-disk space
Again installation proceeded successfully, but then the application wouldn't launch delivering a popup message that a minimum of OS 10.7 is required!

But this link leads back to ADE 3
I go back to my computer and find a route to Adobe LiveChat - to be informed that Adobe don't support ADE and to be advised that I should ask my question in the forums.
I say, so what you're telling me is that you can't or won't send me a link to download ADE 2 from your own servers, and that I should ask other users where the link is?
I provide a fair amount of tech support in our household - we have a spread of ages from 23 to 68 - we've all used computers and internet for years. Experiences like this are frustratingly common - and turn less tech savvy users and possibly large demographics away from the net. But I was surprised to find this happening on Adobe.

I have been trying to find ADE 2.0 for my OSX 1.6.8, but I can only find the 3.0 and the new 4.0 versions. Does anyone know if ADE still is offering 2.0?
