I have downloaded Adobe Digital Editions v2.0. I have my computer authorized. Whenever I try to download a book from the local library, it states "Error! Check Activation." I contacted customer support, they suggested that I remove the program and then reinstall, which I did....Same error. I can not seem to find anything on the website relating to this issue.

Can I add many books to the ADE Library at one time
I download books from multiple sources, often free ebooks from archive.org, etc. I download the books into the Digital Editions folder on my computer, but there doesn't seem to be a way for ADE to automatically find epub files in a folder and add those to its own ADE library. If I open a book from the folder, ADE wants to add it to the library. If I accept, it makes a copy of the file in the Digital Editions folder where the original file already is. I don't really want lots of duplicate files on my computer.
One, is there a way for ADE to find epub and pdf files in a folder and automatically add them to its ADE library? Am I missing something?
Two, if not, what do you do?

Adobe digital editions - Install okay but doesn't want to open?
Hi, I downloaded ADE on my computer, the installation is okay, but when i try to open it, a window opens saying something like (my message is in french) : "Adobe Digital editions 4.0 encountered a probleme and must close. Please let Microsoft know". And then i clicked on "send the errors' message".
I tried to install it via Chrome, explorer, mozilla, same thing.
I bought an ebook on the chapitre.com's website and can't open it without ADE.
Could anyone help me?

Nook Glowlight Error Dialog "User Not Activated"
For anyone who may be experiencing this issue, hopefully I can save you hours of frustration. This afternoon I spent 45 minutes on the phone with Nook support, and we tried everything - deleting the adobe files on the nook, resetting the nook, installing and uninstalling adobe digital editions, etc. What finally worked was installing Adobe Digital Editions 2.0! So if you are getting this message and are feeling frustrated, uninstall your adobe digital editions 4.0.1 and install 2.0

Message on ereader "No valid lisence for the book"!!!??
I have previously bought and downloaded a book successfully from Waterstones. Also downloaded a free book from another site. However the two I have purchased recently from Waterstones downloaded to Adobe Digital Editions ok and then transferred to my Elonex ereader ok. When I tried to read them and clicked on the title to open them I had a message window that said "No valid lisence for the book." I have contacted Waterstones and also Elonex support. Elonex told me to contact Adobe, which I did, but after trying to explain and then finally being put through to technical support the line went dead!!! Just wondered if anyone knows what is wrong and if they can offer any help.

"User not Activated" on Nook Simple Touch
In response to my query "How do I authorize a device" I received the following instructions.
"Make sure that this Adobe ID is the same ID that was used to purchase your eBooks. Also, if you are syncing an eReader device to Digital Editions, make sure that it's the same Adobe ID."
I bought the book I'm trying to read on my Nook Simple Touch from CBD, not from Adobe, so no "Adobe ID" was involved in the purchase. And how do I authorize my Nook to accept content from Adobe Digital Editions? The Nook shows up in my ADE library, and when I drag and drop a book onto it, the book shows up on the Nook. But I get an error message "User not activated" from the Nook.
I've already rebooted the Nook, deleted and restored the Digital Edition folder from the Nook and re-sideloaded the title from ADE, had reauthorized and re-authorized ADE, and rebooted the computer. Still getting the same error message.

Error trying to add Google Play purchased book
I'm encountering an error that I'd appreciated advice on.
I have a Google Play book I'm trying to add to Digital Editions. When I try to open the .acsm file, I get the error: "Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_IO_CANNOT_OPEN"
After looking at reports of similar errors, I've de-authorized & re-authorized and have uninstalled ADE & installed older versions (1.7.2, 2.0, 3.0) and get the same error in each version. I've also tried ADE on two different computers (one running Windows 8 and one running Windows 7).

eBook document is licensed for a different user account - How can I fix?
Recently, my hard drive crashed and I lost all Program Files. I restored the Adobe Digital Editions ebooks after I installed the program. I had to create a new Adobe ID, since the original one used an old email account that was closed years ago, to setup a sign in id. Now I am receiving permissions error "The document is licensed for a different user account." How can I change/update so I can access the 260+ ebooks?

ebooks do not show even though they are loaded
After the installation of Digital Editions 3 (now updated to version 4) I loaded my existing ebooks. After the restart of Digital Editions the books have disapeared ...
If I start to load them again, digital Editions tells me that they already exist (see picture)

Fulfillment Error: E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_TYPE_UNKNOWN
I receive this error when trying to open an .acsm file on my Mac: "Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_TYPE_UNKNOWN:" I am running Mac OS X 10.8.2. When I open the ACSM file it is in XML format and is looking for a PDF document.
What do I need to do to actually download the file? Everything else seems to be configured properly in terms of authorization.

NOOK Simple Touch says "Error Dialog: user not activated" whenever I try to open e-books?
I have had my Nook Simple Touch for about a year now, and I have been using Adobe Digital Editions without a problem. Now, all of the sudden, Barnes and Noble updated my software and I can't read any of my ADE books!! It just says "Error Dialog: User not activated" every time I click on them. I have looked at many other websites and I have tried plugging my nook in to my computer and reauthorizing it, reauthorizing my computer, deleting the digital editions file and .adobe-digital-editions file, redownloading my books, turning my nook off and on, crying, and screaming. The weird thing is, in all the instructions, it says a pop-up box will come up when I delete the files, but it never does. Is that normal? I always have to do it manually by clicking on the gear. I even made sure I "unhid" all the hidden files. I HAVE DONE EACH OF THESE AT LEAST 5 TIMES AND THEY NEVER WORK!!! HELP ME, PLEASE.
Also, a lot of the websites say to make sure your Barnes and Noble ADE I.D. is the same as the one on your ADE computer I.D.. Is the B&N ADE I.D. different from just the Barnes and Noble ID? Becasue I have been using my sisters email for my computer ADE and my email for the B&N I.D.. Are they supposed to be the same? If so, how come I was able to use it without a problem before?? I tried reauthorizing ADE with my email, because I also have an ADE account with my email, but then it wouldn't let me redownload my books onto the new account. Does this mean I have to change the ADE computer I.D. and wait until my books are available again to read them? Is that the way to fix it? UGH!
