Adobe digitals editions has stopped working. Using windows 8.1 Why? it worked yesterday. Reinstalling does not correct the problem.

Can't open DRM ebooks on Kobo Glo
I gave my mom a Kobo Glo for Christmas, but I can't get Adobe Digital Editions to work with it properly. I installed ADE 2.0 on her Windows XP machine and it recognized and authorized the Kobo, but when I try to open a library book on the Kobo, the cover appears and then the screen goes black and I'm returned to the main menu. The book is then marked as Finished.
Other DRMed books on her Kobo (free ones from the Kobo Store) won't open, but display an error message: "Oops! This document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM) and is not currently authorized for use with your Adobe ID [etc]..."
I've tried some of the suggestions I've seen here, including deleting the authorization on the device and reconnecting. I've also tried deleting the Digital Editions folder on the Kobo and reconnecting. Nothing appears to be resolving this problem.
I guess the next step would be to revert the Kobo back to factory and start all over. Any other suggestions?

Trouble adding epub and pdf files to Kobo Glo
Hi there,
I've recently downloaded some epub and pdf ebooks that I want to add to my kobo glo. I'm using a macbook pro computer with OS 10.7. I've searched online forums that tell me that I can just drag and drop pdf and epub files on to the KOBOereader that pops up in my devices. I have done this and ejected the kobo but when I power it up these ebooks are apparently no where on the device. I then followed the instructions on how to add ebooks using ADE 2.0. I authorized my computer to read adobe DRM files under the same email that I set up my kobo with. I plugged in my kobo glo and clicked on connect and the device is recognized in ADE. I authorized the device and drag-and-dropped the files on to the ereader. They apparently transferred over fine and when I open the device in my finder window I see the digital editions folder that contains the files. I eject the device and power up but the files stll do not appear in my library on the ereader. The only files that appear are the ones that I have bought from the Kobo desktop store and loaded on to it through the Kobo desktop app. I also want to note that I do not see the ebooks that I have purchased from kobo on the device when I click on it in ADE. Any help as to fixing my problem is greatly appreciated.

Unable to navigate in windows 7
My didigtal editions v3.0 does not change pages on windows 7. I even tried digital editions v2.1 but that still had the same problem. I am unable to navigate from page to page. Very frustrating as it makes it impossible to read the text book. Any suggestions on what to do?

I had to get a new computer and then downloaded the digital reader. I cannot get from the publisher to the reader. The remark says it cannot read acsm file. What is wrong? I didn't have this problem with the previous computer as I purchased and downloaded these books for months now.

PC computer will not authorize with Digital Editions
While authorizing my PC with the Adobe ID the message comes up saying the server cannot connect to the Internet while the Internet is both fully running on Wifi and is plugged in with a cable to the router. At one point when the server connected and began authorizing it continued to authorize for 2 hours without any progress.
Why does the server not connect and authorize to use Digital Editions on my computer?

Adobe Digital Editions/Adobe Reader X conflict
I work at a public library; while trying to assist a patron with downloading & installing ADE we encountered Adobe Reader X trying to be the default program to open e-books.
We authorized the computer & the nook. Every time the patron chose 'download' Adobe Reader X would open, and generate an error message.
When ADE was open, and the nook was connected, the nook showed up under 'devices.'
So maybe somebody has some ideas on how to correct this problem!

Error message E_LIC_ALREADY_RETURNED
ADE 2.0 thinks it has already returned a loaned book but it didn’t complete the return process because it quit unexpectedly (crashed) during that return process.
How can I complete the aborted return process?
I have had this problem several times after ADE2.0 quits unexpectedly in the middle of returning a library loan.
When ADE2.0 is re-opened, the book file is still visible but I cannot return the library book since ADE2.0 says I have already returned it.
My online library bookshelf says the book has not been returned.
However, if I delete the book from my ADE library, then try to re-download and re-open the second .acsm file (in order to re-return the book), I get the message
