I'm encountering an error that I'd appreciated advice on.

 

I have a Google Play book I'm trying to add to Digital Editions. When I try to open the .acsm file, I get the error: "Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_IO_CANNOT_OPEN"

 

After looking at reports of similar errors, I've de-authorized & re-authorized and have uninstalled ADE & installed older versions (1.7.2, 2.0, 3.0) and get the same error in each version. I've also tried ADE on two different computers (one running Windows 8 and one running Windows 7).

 

Thank you for any suggestions you might have.

I entered wrong account for authorization my computer (Mac) and now I can not change it. Do you now how can I change it?

Hallo, hoffewntlich kann mir jemand helfen. Habe Adobe Digital Editios runtergeladen. Ich wollte ebooks aus der Onleihe auf meinen tolino ziehen. Bin absoluter Leihe. Beim Runterladen habe ich versehentlich angeklickt, dass die ebooks nur auf meinem PC zu lesen sind. Das wollte ich ändern. Geht aber nicht. Habe das Programm vom PC gelöscht und neu geladen, funktionierte auch nicht. Es wird jedesmal angezeigt, dass es diese ID und das PW bereits gibt. Na, klar ist ja auch meine. Dann habe ich versucht über den support Hilfe zu bekommen, hat nicht funktioniert. Auch mit einer telef. Anfrage bin ich gescheitert. Wie kann ich eine Freigabe auf andere Gerätwe ereichen? Ich habe mehrmals über das Hilfsprogramm versucht das zu ereichen, sobald ich meine ID angeben muß scheitert es wieder. Es erscheint jedesmal die Datei ist kopiergeschützt. Es kann doch nicht sein, dass ich diesen blöden Fehler nicht ändern kann. Habe es auch mit einer anderen ID unter meiner anderen email Adresse versuch. Wer kann mr einen Tipp geben?

Dear Sir,   I am very disappointment in the customer support being offered for digital downloads-  I understand that this is a free product, however this is a product that you update on a regular bases and provide to public.  I have been a user of this product for at least 3 yrs and from time to time have run into a minor issue that I have been able to fix.  Recently this is no longer true.  I have searched your site for a means to allow me to use Digital Editions 3.0-  a product that I have used for almost a yr but due to recent update and support from McAfee I can no longer access by public library, Jasmine Digital that requires Adobe Digital to be used on color nook.  I have tried removing and re-installing digital editions 3.0 numerous times, Ii have had Barnes & Noble support team assistance in removing color nook from my computer, reset email address to match adobe email address and still can not get my computer to recognize my email address on attempts to return digital book to my local digital library.  I have called your support line and been placed on hold, given instructions from online info  and offered the forum as the means to solve my problem-  NO REAL IN-DEPTH questioning or assistance.  I have tried all steps offered.  HOW DO I GET HELP?? from your company.  The questions I have posed on the forum have yet to be answered or acknowledged.   I see others are also looking for support with spotty assistance.  HOW IS THIS CUSTOMER SUPPORT?  I would really appreciate a response and assistance.  I am going to the local library to report my problems to see if they have another mechanism of allowing exchange of books on my nook-  I do not at this point see any reason to recommend your company or products and this is all based on the customer support.

When I try to authorize my device I get an error that is isn't connected to the internet...

Ive tried not signing in and it still gives the same error and that Adobe has stopped working and must close.

For another problem I had to reinstall ADE. I authorized it with the same account, on the same pc, but it I can't but my ebooks back.

I'm using Vista.

PS: The original problem was that I couldn't copy my ebooks to my (authorized) ereader.

When I attempt to authorize my computer I receive the error, “Activation Server error code: E_AUTH_NOT_READY”

Followed by the instruction: To retry, click the Try Again button

Been trying this for about an hour.

First is an error message "unable to open windows" - but whether one  chooses "ignore" or "re-open" the programs then crashed with an "ended unexpectantly"  message. OS and broozer ahve been upgraded, all old versions of ADE deleted, new version downloaded - but results are the same - can't lauch.

Nook error user not activated

Recently purchased new computer and upgraded to windows 8. ( I used the Nook simple touch with the old computer frequently, without problems.)

 

Overdrive allows me to download books to my desktop and my galaxy pad.  Loaded ADE 4.0 and can download library books to desktop.  ADE will recognize Nook Simple Touch, and it appears to side-load book to Nook.  However, Error Dialog User not activated appears.

Tried copying library book file to the nook -- same thing --User not activated.

 

I have authorized and re-authorized nook and the desktop.  I have deleted .adobe.digital.editions and re-authorized.  I have de-registered and re-registered the Nook.  I have re-booted the desktop and the Nook.  I have done all of these things as per instructions from B&N Nook help website.  The curious thing is that I can side-load the ADE Getting Started manual from the desktop and open it, but not a library book.

 

I must be overlooking something obvious.  Please advise.

Trying to Set up Kobo GLO with Adobe Digital Editions- Keep getting error message

I'm working with a Kobo Glo and trying to download EPUB E-books through my library using Adobe Digital Editions. Using a PC to transfer the files from Adobe Digital Editions to the kobo. The files always transfer to the kobo, but then once I try to open it through the kobo i get this Error Message:
This document is protected by adobe Digital Rights Managed and is not currently authorized for use with you Adobe ID please sign in with the authorized adobe ID and try again.

 

I've tried reseting to factory settings as a last resort and nothing has worked.

Devo cancellare un ID Adobe creato per errore invece di sostituire la mail nel mio ID Adobe pre-esistente.

Come posso eliminare quello nuovo, anche perché non posso cambiare la mail nel vecchio ID Adobe perché risulta già usata.

Ich habe Adobe Digital Editions3.0 heruntergeladen und wollte meinen Computer authorizieren. Dabei immer wieder Fehlermeldung: Aktivierungsserver-Fehler CODE: E_AUTH_NOT_READY.

Adobe ID + Passwort stimmt. Mehrere Versuche sind fehlgeschlagen. Habe das Programm gelöscht und Adobe 2.1 heruntergeladen. Zeigt den gleichen Fehler an.

Was kann ich noch versuchen?

Digital editions is set-up and accepting books.  Everything seems fine except when I try to open the books, it asks for authorisation.  I enter the Adobe ID which works when I go into the Adobe site, but gives me the error "The vendor account you entered is not associated with the item you are trying to open.  Please try again".  How do I fix this?

I figured out the .acsm problem!

I am running Windows Vista Home Edition.  I just downloaded Digital Editions, and was going through the "Free Sample Books" on this website, when I ran into this problem of not being able to load the files that were .acsm.  I have spent the past several hours browsing through all of these threads and did not find a single solution to this.  I don't know what made me look, (I had downloaded two of the files to my desktop, one of them I renamed, and the other I did not-left it "URLLink.acsm"), but I right clicked the file and looked at the Properties.  Sure enough, at the bottom of the General tab it indicated that the file was being blocked.  I unblocked it, double-clicked it, and it loaded into Digital Editions!!!!  Whoo-hoo!  BUT---you CANNOT rename the file!  I tried it with the one I renamed and it did not work.  I re-downloaded it, unblocked it, and it loaded!  You just have to do them one at a time.  Once it loads, it puts the file in the My Digital Editions folder under your username, so you can then delete the "URLLink.acsm" file.  I HOPE THIS HELPS!! 

 

Oh-Digital Editions opens when you try to download the file.  You need to close it before you try to open your unblocked file!

I downloaded an item from my public library website which is now showing up in ADE. however after I click and drag the book onto my ereader in ADE, and eject, the book does not appear in by reader anywhere. What else can I check?

DRM Error on Kobo

I downloaded a eBook from my local library and transferred to my Kobo through ADE but it won't open on the Kobo. I get an error message saying the document is protected by DRM.

 

I've authorized ADE on my PC, checked that device is authorized, checked that both authorizations are under the same ID, checked that the ID is the same as the email address my library has, deleted and redownloaded the book, uninstalled and reinstalled ADE, returned the book to the library and reborrowed it, but nothing has worked. I get the same error message no matter what I try. Please help!

Hallo! I downloaded a drm protectet book with adobe digitals. Before downloading i didnt log in with my adobe ID. (I wonder how this is possible) I tried to link my adobe ID to my ipad (Bluefire Reader) but it didnt work. Then i uninstalled adobe digitals and reinstalled it and now it wont let me open the book because i didnt download the book with my adobe id. (I wasnt logged in while downloading). what am i supposed to do? How can i make it work again? now i cant even print the book...
