I bought a new kobo aura and under my accounts page, it says I am not authorized with digital editions after signing in with my kobo account.
I do have an authorized adobe ID. My library books will not open because of this.
I have tried all the trouble shooting on kobo end, like factory reset, downloading adobe 3.0, deleting all downloads and redownloading etc.
Nothing has worked. They told me to contact my library but I am sure this is not the issue.
Please help?!

This really is the most incompetent piece of software I think I have ever come across ...
Win10 install - crashes every time on startup
Win7 install - crash the same
WinXP install - crash the same
MacOS X install - works - but won't download anything
So I go to the updates page - it says Version 4.5.4 on the screen, but says it's installing version 4.5.5 ...
I think configuration control is broken too ... i found a version for the Mac (with a 2017 date) called v2.5, which sort of works ...
Looking at the huge number of difficulties users are having. I think it's time Adobe 'insourced' the programming back to the USA ... the team in India have proved they are not competent ...
I feel so sorry for the content producers, to have their reputations dragged down by association with Adobe.

Since the last two days, I encounter the following error message from Adobe Digital Editions every time I try to download any ebook from Open Library...that is, when I double-click the ACSM file:
"Unable to Download
Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem:
E_ADEPT_NO_FULFILLMENT_REQUEST"
I've already tried uninstalling and then re-installing ADE. I've also tried to "Erase Authorization" and then re-authorized my computer. But the error persists. Please help!
Keeps having the following error reported when trying to authorize my PC with Adobe Digital Editions: Error on the activation server". My Adobe ID and password are correct. Anyone know what to do? this has been going on for days.
I'm trying to authorize my Adobe Digital Editions on my computer, but it gives me the following message: "You can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been used to authorize any other computer or mobile devices." How do I fix this? I don't remember authorizing another computer with this e-mail, but if I did, it was a computer that no longer functions. Is there a way to de-authorize a computer remotely?

Can somebody tell me what should I do to have other functions available/active in the software. Like highlight, double-page view and so on?
All these functions are inactive in the tool.

I believe it has been asked for many times online,but i can't found a solution online.. and contacted Adobe Help Chat.. as per usual like others, been directed to this forum to post my question..
It looks like (from my reading online).. when I first purchased the ebook (epub) from Google Playstore, and downloaded as epub, it directly opened in Adobe Digital Edition application (frankly, I never know it exists this application)... It opened ebook, b'cos I haven't sign in an Adobe account to authorize desktop, it assigned an unique ID to that book(that is my understanding from online search)... Recently, my company has upgraded my desktop to a faster PC, b'cos that unique ID only exits in old PC (which I have no idea where is it now)... I can not open all my ebook anymore..I just want to know how to reset it... I tried to download my book from Google Playbook again, but won't open up, with above error msg..any idea how to fix it?
Why ADE can not just force any new users to sign in proper adobe userid, rather than assign an unique ID, to minimize this kinda of troublesome.. it is sooo annoying for any new users
I have Adobe Digital Editions for eBooks.
I tried to authorize an ereader app to use Adobe ID DRM.
The app gave an error that said I needed to contact Adobe because I had reached my limit of authorizations.
I contacted Adobe support via chat, and was told that I needed to post to this forum for help.
I have linux as searching motor, I dowloaded the ADE, I signed up. I cant autohorize my kobomini ereader. how coud I do?!?!?!

de readerBij het trachten een nieuw ebook in de bibliotheek van Digital Editions te zetten zag ik tot mijn verbazing dat er geen enkel boek zichtbaar was.
Bij het aansluiten van mijn KOBO reader verschenen die boeken wel na het kiezen van de reader in het keuzemenu van Digital Editions. (Links naast waar de boeken getoond worden).
Ook de-installeren en opnieuw installeren van diverse versies van Digital Editions heeft niet geholpen, geen boeken zichtbaar,
Ik meende toen dat opnieuw de boeken uit de map My Digital Editions (gemaakt door het programma zelf) via "Bestand, Toevoegen aan bibliotheek" de zaak weer zou verhelpen, echter kreeg ik iedere keer de melding dat dit niet ging want het boek zat al in de bibliotheek!
Wie weet hiervoor een oplossing?

ich benutze ADE seit langem auf meinem PC zum Lesen von E books, möchte jetzt ein smartbook zusätzlich lesen, habe dort ADE installiert und autorisiert mit den gleichen Daten wie die PC Autorisierung, aber auf dem Smartbook sind keine Ebooks aus meiner bibliothek sichtbar

I was using a version of ADE without problem but the application does not seem to open now. I have tried to reinstall 4.5.6 but I have had no luck. I am running windows version 10 and believe the problem began with the most recent service update.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I just installed Digital Editions on my mac computer, and the bottom menu is missing.
This is where you should be able to scroll from page to page.
Also, is there a way to view two consecutive pages simultaneously?

Please PLEASE help! I have spent HOURS on the phone trying to be able to get my Reader to where I can access books and actually READ! The Sony Reader Support folks have tried and tried to help, but say I need Adobe support. This is the message I get:

Na computercrash zijn alle bestanden gelukkig bewaard gebleven. Na opnieuw installeren adobe digital editions 4.5.2 krijg ik een lege biblotheek te zien en lukt het niet meer om mijn epub-bestanden met het programma te openen of naar bibliotheek te slepen. Ik krijg de melding: kan boek niet aan de biblotheek, boek bestaat al in de biblotheek. Af en toe lukte het wel met slepen, maar na sluiten en opnieuw openen van het programma was het boek verdwenen.
Joke
Nadat opeens alle boeken verdwenen waren uit mijn bibliotheek, en ik ze ook niet terug kon halen (de boodschap is dat de boeken al in de bibliotheek zouden zitten) had ik na installatie van een oude versie van ADE (3.0) een klein succesje.
Ik kon alle (nu ja, bijna alle) boeken weer terugzetten zonder dat de melding kwam dat die boeken er al in zouden zitten.
Helaas duurde dat dus niet lang, want nadat na een herstart alles nog steeds goed leek te zijn, was na enkele uren alles toch weer weg.
En kwamen ook de meldingen weer terg bij het trachten de boeken terug te zetten.
Ik weet eigenlijk echt niet meer wat nog te doen is, ik heb alle versies vanaf 2.0 tot 4.5.3 geprobeerd, alle registerwaarden die verwezen naar ADE verwijderd en alles nog eens geinstalleerd, niets helpt!
Wie weet DE oplossing?

I have a nook glowlight plus and I downloaded adobe digital editions to my mac so I could transfer local public library books to my nook.
The books show up on my nook but when I try and open them I get an error message that says "error opening book. This book is not activated for current ADE users". When I contact Barns and Noble they say its an Adobe problem. I can open the book on my computer so its not a library problem. How can I fix this problem?

According to other feedback you need to erase authorization and then redo it to get this error to go away. My issue is that when the window opens for (command-shift-D and it has my Authorized user correct, and asks for password. I input my Adobe password and says it is the incorrect password. I have gone onto the main Adobe site and changed my password; reloaded Adobe digitial editions; restarted computer...
Still get the same error when I try and download a book. Any ideas?
Even tried to do command-shift-u which is supposed to open the authorization window, this does not work.
