Tech specs

On page Adobe Digital Editions | Tech Specs under "Windows" the second bullet-point says "Mac OS X v10.8 or later". Under "Compatible with Apple Retina Display" it says "Windows®7 (32 or 64 bit running in 32-bit mode)".

 

  • Is ADE available for Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10?
  • Does Windows 7 64-bit version have to set to 32-bit mode specially for ADE? What happens to all the other software on the computer?
  • Does the Apple Retina Display work with Windows, or only with Mac?

 

On page Adobe Digital Editions | Release Notes version 4.5.7 is not mentioned.

 

On page Installation issues for Adobe Digital Editions 4.0 Microsoft Edge, Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 are not mentioned. The issues with ADE installing on Windows 10, and then not working, even with "Run as administrator", are not covered. The community forum has a page: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2072517

 

In some business environments it might be thought that ADE is coming to the end of its product life, or that it is not being supported any more. We've had Windows 10 for two or three years now. Can the information be updated?

teveel activaties en niet willen autoriseren van de ereader, wat nu?

Ik heb zo'n 4 weken geleden boeken op mijn nieuwe ereader geplaatst via ADE Kobo H2O. Het zijn boeken die ik via Libris heb gekocht in het Nederlands. Alles werkte perfect. Ook boeken die ik bij de bibliotheek geleend heb, konden erop. Maar nu, een paar weken later, kan ik mijn boeken opeens niet meer openen. Hij zegt dat ik niet geautoriseerd ben en dat de ereader ook niet geautoriseerd is. Heel vreemd. Na het meerdere keren deinstalleren van ADE en weer opnieuw installeren van DE 4.5 en 3, en de instructies te volgen, heb ik de ereader maar teruggezet naar de fabrieksinstellingen. Ook dan krijg ik de boeken er niet op. Alleen de boeken die ik vanuit de Koboapp gekocht heb, staan erop. Hij wilde de ereader ook opeens niet meer autoriseren. Bij het autoriseren krijg ik een foutmelding dat ik teveel activaties heb lopen. Via de Adobe site, moet ik dan contact met jullie opnemen zodat jullie dit account kunnen resetten. Ik zie alleen deze mogelijkheid, want ik zie geen telefoonnummer waar ik naar toe kan bellen. Het werkt allemaal niet optimaal en ik heb op deze manier geen zin om een ereader te gebruiken...

Adobe Digitial editions can't find ereader

Hello,

 

I bought a Kobo Aura edition 2 e-reader. I downloaded Adobe Digital editions and authorized it with my pc.

When I connect the ereader to my pc, this works fine. Only ADE can not find my ereader and does not show it under 'devices/apparaten'.

 

Like this I can not authorize ADE to my ereader.  I searched for topics on this forum and online, but no response seems to help. This is quite frustrating since I wont be able to use my ereader for PDF's or other important channels to read ebooks.

 

Could you please help me out with this problem?

After borrowing a Ebook from my local library I received a URLLink.acsm to open in ADE.

A message appeared:

Unable to download.Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem.

 

E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY_OR_PKCS12

Error! Check Activation

Hello dear user forum,

it is about: "Error! Check Activation"

Whenever I download a file to see it on my pc/e-reader it wont open and I get the  code "Error! check Activation"

i found these error instructions:

I have deleted the old and downloaded the newest version of ADE to be on the safe side.

without improvement.

 

also: it says in the instructions to "Delete the Adobe ID using the combination[CTRL] + [SHIFT] + [d], and then authorize the computer again."

where should I do this?

I tried to sign out with my account but aed wont let me. the password is correct. I am being told to try later again. And ahve tried and tried and tried. And yes I am online

would appreciate any kind of support!

I'm having an issue opening a text book in the library.  A message pops up that says "Client certificate used with Digital Editions is invalid. You will not be able to use all the features available in this application!" and i dont know how to fix it!

Hi there,

 

I have tried the solutions listed for this error code, but to no avail.

 

The one solution is to double-check the account and the second is to ask the store for a new token.

 

I have double checked the account and I am using the correct one and I asked the store and they will not provide me with a new token.

 

I am out of options and this ebook is actually an academic textbook that I urgently need to complete university assignments. And to also make matter worse was that it was very expensive.

 

Please is there any other options that can help me, or can someone connect to my computer remotely?

 

Any help would be much appreciated, I am desperate.

I bought a book ( on thieme) and had to download it with Adobe Digital Editions.... the book is available in the app only.. but I need it in my iBooks library so that I  can use it with my Apple Pencil and keep all my books together in one place .. .can anybody help me out ? Tanks

ebooks downloaded to ADE: can not be read on any other device.

Hello!

 

I bolded the important parts below and highlighted my questions.

 

I downloaded a document on my computer and opened it with ADE. I tried to open the same doc on my phone (which required the app bluefire). Bluefire comes up with this message when I try to open the ebook:

I contacted Adobe and Bluefire and was directed here ultimately.

 

I think Bluefire's response sums it all up well (I bolded the part I think is my issue. My question is, how do I fix it?! thanks!!):

 

 

"That screen appears when trying to open an ebook that is licensed to a different user account than the one you used to authorize Bluefire Reader. An ebook becomes associated with an account the very first time you download it to a reader app.  Did you perhaps first download this document on a desktop machine using Adobe Digital Editions?  If so, best to open ADE on that machine and inspect what account you used.  If you "skipped" the initial authorization of ADE (e.g. you did not authorize it with an Adobe ID account) then ebooks downloaded to ADE become licensed to the computer - rather than a user account - and thus can not be read on any other device (so how do I figure out if I did this and how do I change it?).

 

The other possibility is that you have created two different Adobe ID's.  Sometimes it is easy to forget, especially if you have had Adobe Digital Editions installed for a long time.  When you open ADE, there are menu items that enable you to view what account you used to authorize (mmmm ADE seems pretty basic on my computer and I cannot seem to glean any type of info about any "account" I set up. how do I figure out what "account" I made?).

Betrifft: Löschung meines autorisierten Kontos und aller Adobe Programme.

 

Ich betreibe einen Computer mit Windows 10, mit Kaspersky Virenschutz und lese mit einem Kobo E-Book Reader. Ich kaufe E-Books  bei Thalia ,Kobo oder borge sie bei DigiBib Steiermark (onleihe.de)aus.

Seit ich das Programm ADE 4.5.7.179634 installiert habe, kommt nach dem Download eines Buches die Meldung:“ Wie möchten Sie mit dem URLLinks.acsm verfahren?“, und schlägt mir u.a. Adobe Reader vor. Adobe Reader kann die Datei nicht öffnen und ADE wird nicht vorgeschlagen. Ich kann das Buch nicht lesen.

Der Zugriff auf das Programm 4.5.6 ist nicht mehr möglich.

Ich bitte um Löschung meiner ID und aller Adobe Programme.

Danach will ich eine neue ID erstellen und die Programme neu laden. Oder haben sie eine andere Lösung?

Bitte benachrichtigen sie mich über die nötigen Schritte.

Digital Editions - Authorization Error

This morning I tried to open digital editions on my Mac Book to read some pro tools course books (which I was looking at two weeks ago) and I have received an error message.  I looked through the forums and found some advice to unauthorize my mac and uninstall. Then re-install, re-authorize and redownload the books.  However, I am getting the same message every-time I try to re-authorize.

 

An Error Had Been Detected.

 

Activation Server Error - code E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY

 

Digital Editions encounter an error on the activation server.

 

To retry, click the Try Again button.

 

 

I have digital editions on my iPhone and I can access the books just fine on there... Any ideas?

Bonjour,

Je m'occupe des livres numériques dans une médiathèque.

Jusqu'a maintenant pas de soucis pour télécharger et lire des livres. Depuis quelques jours, je peux les télécharger, les ouvrir avec ADE, mais quand je les transfère sur ma liseuse, je ne peux plus les ouvrir. Quelque soit la marque de la liseuse.

J'ai de nombreux appels d'usagers mécontents et coincés !

Il faut trouver une solution !

Hi. 

I recently downloaded ADE 4.5.2 but it isn't working properly with my old Nook.  I had the old version of ADE before and it worked fine with my Nook and I'm getting fed up with the errors not allowing me to read ebooks I check out from the library on my nook.  I want to try downloading ADE 3.0 since that seemed to work fine but I can't find a link to download it.  The link for 3.0 on the digital editions website just goes to a list of all the Adobe products and doesn't seem to include ADE 3.0 anyway.  Please help!   Where can I get 3.0 back?
