Android - ADE does literally nothing

Things I've tried:

  • Opening an acsm file using Adobe Digital Editions on Android
  • Opening the epub file contained in that acsm file (extracted with Adobe Digital Editions on PC) using Adobe Digital Editions on Android

Things that happened:

  • Literally nothing, at all

 

When I try to open either of these in Adobe Digital Editions on Android, the app opens to the same blank screen with only the Getting Started book on it. There's no indication that the app is doing anything (which I don't think it is honestly).

 

When I try to put either of these in the Digital Editions directory the app created, the app doesn't seem to see them at all.

 

The app is not fulfilling its one purpose. How to fix?

File open failed - message

Hi

 

I need help urgently.

I have bought a bunch of books this weekend for my birthday and out of the 30 books I bought from Booktopia 4 have downloaded fine to my ereader and I can open and access them. The others which I did exactly the same way aren't opening and come up with the error message File open failed. What does that mean and how do I fix it? I was on it for hours downloading them last night and have re sent them from Booktopia today which I can open and access all the books in Digital Editions on Adobe but I want them all to be accessible on my ereader so I can read in bed and on on the train going to & from work.

As it's the long weekend here in Australia I can't get to talk to anyone at Booktopia to see if its an issue at there end and don't know how to contact someone in Adobe. I go back to work full time from tomorrow and would like to try fix the problem today if I can.

"Open file error" on eredear

Hi!

 

I have a tagus 2018, I've dowloaded 6 books from the kobo web and they open just fine on ADE but when I add them to my ereader, there are two books that pop the message "open file error" and it shows like they have 1/1 pages but on the computer I can read it just fine.

 

Any help or suggestion?!

Adobe Digital Editions won't open -acsm file

bought a ebook from the Google Store, when I wouwnload the .acsm file to open it with Adobe Digital Edition this window popos up and the book won't open.

ADE crashes each time I try to open DRM-protected library books

Updated to ADE 4.5.10.  Have tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing my computer (Windows 10).  Seems OK if I import a book that I have purchased but crashes every time I try to import a book that is DRM-protected.  Not able to load the book or open it to read even in ADE.  Also unable to transfer to eReader through ADE (although this is fine with a purchased book).  Any suggestions?

I just bought some ebooks protected with DMR on IBS. I can not download them with adobe digital edition and I receive the following error: Unable to download. License recovery error. License server communication problem E_ADEPT_DISTRIBUTOR_AUTH.
(I receive the message in Italian, I translated it, the translation may not correspond to the same message in English)

Has anyone had the same problem? Can someone help me?

ADE 4.5.10 Not Responding Windows 10 Pro

I have just bought a new PC and installed Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.1773. Subsequently I downloaded ADE Version 4.5.10. When I opened ADE every book I have ever downloaded (despite having deleted read books from ADE previously) appeared in the library! Furthermore, if I click on say 'File' or 'Library' or a book icon the programme says 'not responding.' ADE also freezes and to exit the programme I have to do so via my Task Manager.

 

Any helpful advice would be gratefully received.

Adobe Digital 2.0 Installer Password Problem

I downloaded Adobe Digital 2.0 for my Mac and when I open the installer it asks for my password, when I put in my correct password it doesn't accept it. I have tried my Apple ID as well as changed my adobe password and tried that (in case I was entering it incorrectly). Nothing is working. I do not have any type of serial number to enter.. and cannot move any further with the install unless I get this figured out. Any ideas?

Can Adobe Stock Licensed Assets be Used as a Cover Page of an eBook for Sale?

I have created a 1000 word short story that features a single Adobe Stock image I paid to license. Can I convert my short story into an eBook for sale on Apple and Amazon without having to pay royalties for the photo/image originally used in my original short story? The photo is used as the Title Page of the story.

Unlimited web views

Use the asset in email marketing, mobile advertising, social media, or a broadcast program

***Is a Title/Cover page of an eBook considered "prominent use" - what constitutes prominent use? The eBook is ready to publish today, but I would like to confirm licensing before proceeding.

I have tried downloading version 3 and version 4. but it does not let me choose the digital editions to use with my kobo - if I dont get an answer soon i will use itunes and use my ipad

Digital ebook provider says I have used all my devices so cannot have my ebooks

I have purchased eBooks from Kalahari and then Takealot over the last 6 or 7 years. During that time I have moved from iPad to iPad and Mac to Mac, deauthorizing and then reauthorising, always using the same ID.

 

All of a sudden on my last iPAD, when I tried to get these books again, I wasnt able to. I kept receiving either "token not available" or a "Fulfillment error 0". On checking, they told me to download to Digital editions. I did this but then received the ""E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER" error.

 

According to Takealot, this is my problem as they will not reset anything to allow me to access these eBooks. Their reasoning is that I only borrowed them and I only borrowed them for the original devices so I should expect to have them on my new devices. For me to get these books, I would need to buy them all over again!

 

A couple of books have downloaded perfectly, and those are mostly the more recent ones - which were probably purchased on a later device.

 

Is anyone able to assist me? It doesn't seem fair that only a certain number of devices are allowed to be used, or that if I de-authorise one, I am not allowed to authorise the newer one. I have also moved from SA to the UK, but even during that move, I have NOT changed my user id.

 

Any advice???

when i open adobe digital editions the library is blank, but any books i try to add to library error message says item already exists in library. any idea how to make library visible

Unable to erase Authorization

Am unable to download eBooks through Adobe Digital Editions on Windows 10.  Error message says Check Authorization.  ADE says computer is authorized.  When trying to erase authorization get the message "Unable to erase authorization".

 

Have read many posts on this subject in the forum, none of the suggestions helped.  The email address in ADE was old, so I changed it in Adobe ID, still no luck.  Tried removing the Adobe Adept key in the registry, uninstalled the software, and rebooted the PC.  Rechecked the registry and the key was gone.  Reinstalled the software and the key came back and still can't erase the authorization.

 

  • How do I erase authorization considering what I've already tried?
  • Does ADE use Adobe ID for credentials?  Why does the email address not update?

Después de descargar el Adobe Digital Edition, no le di a la pestaña de crear una ID y autorizar con ID, sino a la de solo autorizar  de forma anónima lo que supone que solo puedo leer en el dispositivo en el que estaba descargando, y quisiera saber como puedo revertir esto.

When a pdf is opened in this software sometimes the print size is too small. I am wondering when I enlarge it I would like to keep a copy of the book in that size print. There are two options of how to put it into one's library. Will it keep the book in the size you enlarge the print to or is there another way I can enlarge the print and save that book in the enlarged print size?  The reason I ask is I would like to transfer the book in this format to my Barnes and Noble Nook because once a pdf book is put onto the nook library the format can not be enlarged.  Thanks for any help.

Activation Error

When I download an Ebook via Overdrive, I get an "Error! Check Activation" pop up. Then when I try to Erase Authorization on the Adobe Digital Editions program, I get another error that states "unable to erase authorization. please try after some time."

 

How do I go about cleaning this all up so I can download ebooks again?

Digital Editions continually crashes following IT upgrade

We recently had an IT upgrade in which all our computers were replaced. Our limit of 6 PCs was tied to the old machines and so might need resetting. We have downloaded the book again but Adobe Digital Editions crashes every time we try to open the title.

 

Please could someone sort?

Export or Save Highlights and Annotations in Adobe Digital Editions

Hello,

 

I am a graduate student working on a number of essays. Through my school's library, I was fortunately able to borrow electronic editions of a number of books. However, after the loan period ends (3 days or 21 days), the books disappear and so will my highlights and comments.

 

Is there any way to export the highlights and annotations generally to another document so that I still have them? Otherwise, I lose a lot of my research. I even tried to copy and paste and am not allowed to do that. So, it seems that the only alternative is to type out every highlight or simply to lose them. There must be an easier solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
