Windows 10 - ADE not detected when I download books from public library

Since installing Windows 10 and ADE 4.5, when I download a book from a public library it simply downloads the .epub file to whatever directory I choose.  To get it into ADE, I have to go through the "Add to Library" function within ADE.

 

That's fine, but ADE does not recognize it as a borrowed book, so I cannot return it when I finish it.  I am approaching the maximum number of books I can have checked out at the same time from my local library because these books cannot be returned.  I apparently have to wait fro them to expire.

 

Ideas?

I really need your help: I tried to authorise my computer again but it doesn't work. Everytime I tried there was this error: Sie können diesen Computer nicht mit einer Adobe-ID autorisieren, die zuvor verwendet wurde, um andere Computer oder Mobilgeräte zu autorisieren.

I asked a few people and they say, that the Adobe- Support has to reset my authorisations. So can you help me, please?

Ich bekomme beim Download meines Buches immer nur die Meldung: "Inhalt wird heruntergeladen". Danach passiert nichts mehr. Ich benutze Version 4.5, OSX. Kann mir jemand helfen?

ADE keeps connecting wrong ID

ADE kept connecting wrong ID to my e-books, making it impossible for me to read them without constantly switching between my cc ID and my e-book (older) ID. How do i stop it from automatically connecting one ID or the other?

 

It gave me quite the anxiety a few weeks back when I bought some e-books on a website, opened them in ADE to transfer them to my Tolino only to have it connect the wrong ID even thought I specifically put the right one in ADE.
(first time i put in the wrong ID, i uninstalled everything, reinstalled, connected the right ID, but i could solve this with the shop and got a new copy of the e-book, but then ADE just kept connecting the CC ID, not the correct one. luckily the store was very understanding and refunded me the e-books)

Question 2:  About 10 days ago I did manage to download books to ADE but now cannot return them to the library.  Received this message: Error returning item.  License Server Communication problem.  E_BAD_LOAD_ID

Unable to associate Digital Editions to .acsm

I recently was unable to get ebooks from the library and was able to diagnose that Adobe Digital Editions was not associated to .acsm (the format that our library uses for ebooks).  When I go to control panel and try changing it in 'Default Programs', it just doesn't work.  I browse to DigitalEditions and then say open and the browse window closes, but it does not add DigitalEditions as an option.  Any help is appreciated.

Error getting license. License server communication problem. E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_OPEN_ERROR.....anyone have any idea how to stop this...I bought two books from e-books one downloaded fine this one didn't...I can view it online but not on my computer...

Habe versehentlich ohne ID den PC autorisiert nach dem Download zweier ACSM dateien. Jetzt kann ich diese nicht auf den ebook reader übertragen, sondern nur auf demPC öffnen und lesen.

Wie kann ich dies rückgängig machen?

How do I download a library book to Adobe Digital Edition instead of Adobe Reader?

I have installed and authorized Adobe Digital Edition to my computer but when I try to download a book from the library it defaults to Adobe Reader, which of course, does not recognize it.  How can I get books to default to Adobe Digital Edition instead?

How can I get Adobe Digital Editions to work on my Macbook Pro?

ADE worked fine on my old Macbook to download books from Overdrive.  Bought new Macbook Pro, down loaded ADE and cannot use it.  When it opens, following message appears: 

 

Error Message: Error getting license. License Server Communication Problem. 

> Problem:

> E_ACT_NOT_READY


I tried Command+Shift+D and it does not bring up a window to deauthorize so I can reauthorize.  What else can I do?

Ik installeerde Adobe Digital Editions op mijn laptop. Bij het aanmaken van een autorisatie waardoor ik mijn ebook ook op mijn e-reader kan lezen en op mijn smartphone, geeft ie volgende foutmelding: fout activeringsserver code: E_AUTH_NOT_READY. Wie weet er een oplossing?

Digital Editions Is Not Deleting Files Properly

I use Digital Editions to load borrowed library Ebooks onto my Nook reader as well as "returning" those books and then deleting them from my Nook. However, when I delete Ebooks, Digital Editions still leaves EPUB and ANNOT files associated with the books in the My Documents/My Digital Editions folder on my PC. I contacted Adobe technical support online chat to ask if those files should be automatically deleted from the PC by Digital Editions when books were deleted from the Nook and was told that the files on the PC would "get deleted in a few days." I told the support rep that I had files on the PC from deleted books that were a couple of months old. I asked the tech rep is perhaps I was doing something wrong in my sequence of: "returning" the book, then deleting the book in the library list in Digital Editions and then pointing to the Nook in Digital Editions and deleting the book there as well.  The tech rep then gave me a link to this forum to solve Digital Editions problems.  Not much help from him!  Now I am faced with an Adobe tech rep telling me that the EPUB and ANNOT files should be automatically deleted from the PC, but the files not being deleted.  He offered no explanation of what I might be doing wrong, but sent me here to find a solution.  Does anyone have any suggestion why my Digital Editions is not automatically deleting files as Adobe rep said it should?

 

Also, are there any Adobe tech folks monitoring this forum who might help clarify the issue?

Unable to Deauthorize

I have been trying to deauthorize my Adobe Digital Editions account for about 24 hours (I need to authorize a different username). Each time I make it through the dialogue, the error message "Unable to Erase Authorization. Please try again after some time" pops up. Why might this error be occurring? I have also tried uninstalling the program, but it keeps me authorized with the original username.

Having trouble syncing my ebooks from my pc to my Surface tablet

Hello,

 

I use my PC for work and school, and have two very useful ebooks downloaded onto my PC in Adobe Digital Editions. I recently got a Surface tablet for work and downloaded Digital Editions so I could view my ebooks on that. I made sure to authorize my Surface with the same Adobe ID as my PC, but I still can't sync and view my ebooks on my Surface.

 

Anyone know what's missing here?

ADE and Windows 10 upgrade

Since upgrading to Windows 10 (from Windows 8.1) I get the message "Error! Check Attivation!" when attempting to add a DRM book to ADE.  My ID/password still work work for my Android device and my online account.  I also cannot deauthorize the computer without a functioning ID/password.
