Open an e-book and choose "Open in Digital Editions"
Brings up the Authorize Your Device page. Type in Adobe ID and password. Click Authorize.
Error msg: Digital Editions could not connect to the activation server. Please make sure you are connected to the Internet.
I am connected to the Internet.

My library loans books through Overdrive and 3M Cloud Reader, and I borrow from each. Both use ADE, but the problem is that 3M uses a vendor ID to authorize my computer and ADE will not let me use use Overdrive until I erase the 3M authorization - which I cannot do since I need 3M's password to erase their vendor ID. I can go into registry and delete adept key but that seems like such a crazy work around every time I want to switch between the two. I just don't understand why ADE can't play well with both platforms.

I'm having trouble associating ACSM files with Adobe Digital Editions. Because I was getting a Kobo error with version 4.5 I had to uninstall the program and downgrade to version 3.0. Now Windows will not allow me to associate ACSM files with the program: When I right-click on the file, cloose "Open with" and "Choose default program" the "Open with dialogue opens, but ADE does not appear. I use the Browse option to navigate to digitaleditions.exe and have tried double-clicking and right-click-selecting, but ADE doesn't show up when the Browse window closes.
I checked the following six registry entries
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Adobe.ACSMessage\shell\open\command
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Adobe.DigitalEditions\shell\open\command
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Adobe.EPUB\shell\open\command
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Adobe.ACSMessage\shell\open\command
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Adobe.DigitalEditions\shell\open\command
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Adobe.EPUB\shell\open\command
The "default" values all point to the right executable like this: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Digital Editions 3.0\digitaleditions.exe" "%1"
I did a search and have found VARIOUS entries with the same problem, but none of them has been answered. Has anyone resolved this? Are there any suggestions?

I have set my Default Program file association for ADE files to open in ADE3 which I downloaded from Ebooks.com. When I try to download the book file it attempts to open in Kindle and not ADE. Any suggestions?
I am not able to associate acsm files to Adobe digital editions.When I try to map the default program acsm to adobe digital editions, I only see Adobe reader. Even after browsing and selecting digital editions.exe from program files(x86) ,adobe digital edition it does not show up as an option.

Adobe digital Editions is telling me "Error getting license. License Server Communication Problem: E_STREAM_ERROR when I try to download an epub or pdf file that I have purchased from google play. I have previously downloaded these files with no problems.
Any help appreciated. I am not very technologically wise...

I have downloaded a digital book from the library on my laptop in adobe digital editions. I can read the book on my computer but not my e reader. The note on the e reader says "This document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights" amd will not open. How can I read my downloaded books on the e reader?

I am getting 'Error! Check Authorization'. When I select 'Erase Authorization' from the Help drop-down, it shows my Adobe ID and wants the password. I enter the password, hit 'Continue' and it acts like it doesn't like the password. I can log into Adobe.com, change my password, and come back to ADE, same thing. I have uninstalled ADE, cleared cookies, cache, etc., restarted the computer, and re-installed ADE. It shows up already authorized and gives the same error message. It still won't let me Erase Authorization. Please help.
I installed Adobe Editions 4.5 under Adminitstrator account. It works in the Administrator account but not in user account. I tried installing only on the user account using run as Administrator but it does not work as well
My digital editor can´t find my reader (Sony Reader PRS-T2) ?
I have been using ADE edition 4.5.1 for some time on a Windows 10 pc, to download library books. which arrive in a .acsm file. This used to be automatically opened by ADE and the epub file downloaded. Now the default prograqmme has been changed to ADEAutoUpdater, which doesn't open the file, and the default can't be changed to ADE, because it doesn't appear in the list of available apps. What is ADEAutoUpdater, and how cn I change the default programme back to ADE?
I have a new version of the "oops" message problem. I can download a .acsm file from my library and open it on ADE 4.5.1 and then transfer it to my Kobo via ADE. Still on my PC, in ADE, I can click on the Kobo in ADE and open and read the book. However, now, after succesfully reading umpteen books on the Kobo, downloaded this way, when I eject the Kobo and then go to read the book, I get the "oops" message. I have not changed the hardware or software, nor any authorisations. The only thing that I can think of which is different is that I am at the moment in France, whereas normally I am in England when I download the books. I can still download books from the library on my Android device and read them in Overdrive, so I don't think this can be the problem. Anyone any ideas?
The font size will not increase with some books that I download from the library onto my iPad. Is there any way to fix this?

Up until today I was able to add books from my local library to Digital Editions and then add them onto my Kobo.
Now, for reasons I don't understand, it will allow me to download the books from the library, but not add them to my Kobo.
I looked and it says my computer is "Authorized without an ID" and that basically this means I can't add books to another device.
So, I went to authorize it using my Adobe ID and I'm getting the error message:
Activation Server Error
code: E_AUTH_NOT_READY
Digital Editions encountered an error on the activation server.
Does anyone know how to fix this or what I've done wrong? Please help!

Now I've lost a device. I want to replace it. How the new device digital adobe enable edition?

When I try transferring a book from adobe digital editions to my nook I get a pop up error message that says there is no permission to copy the book. How do I transfer it ? I've always been able to transfer books
up until yesterday.

For awhile now I've been unable to open EPUB ebooks from the online library. Every time I download a book in Adobe Digital Editions I receive the following message:
Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_STREAM_ERROR:
I contacted tech support with overdrive and they told me to unauthorize and reauthorize adobe digital editions. I have done that but I am still getting the same message and unable to read my books.
