Digital Editions download Error

When downloading an E Book from local library which uses Borrowbox the download creates a URL file. Usually this opens Digital Editions and then adds the e book to the library ( Called "Fulfilling). I now find the Fulfilling does not work and the following error message is displayed "Error - Check Activation"  No error message number or link is provided. 

My computer is authorized with Adobe. I have failed to find any guidance as to what "Activation" is and how to check it.

I use Windows Vista and have uninstalled and reinstalled the digital Editions software without effect.

Can anyone help?

Adobe Digital Editions: error: E google device limit reached

I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled Adobe Digital Editions... it worked fine before the reformat... now when I try to add a purchased book from Google, I get this warning: E google device limit reached.  How do I fix this?  bob@BobTheActor.com

Can't open acsm file with ADE

I have downloaded and installed ADE. I have downloaded an ebook from a website. Usually when I double-click on it, it opens up with ADE directly. This time, instead of that it's trying to install ADE again although it's already installed.

Won't load acsm link. Can't read any of the other purchased books beacause they are "corrupted".

I just want to read my purchased book! I have the acsm link downloaded in my computer and IT WON'T LOAD MY EBOOK. Why? I only have 2 books on Digital Editions and it won't open either of them because it says they are corrupted. I tried to download it on my Ipad but it won't even let me sign in with my Adobe ID. Why aren't you Adobe people helping a little? You don't even have an e-mail to contact about our problems. I have just paid for an ebook I won't even read and I can't get a refund. So please, if anyone has any idea, please share it.

E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY on Mac OS X 10.13.4

Hello,

 

I am receiving this error message since update Mac OS X 10.13.4

 

As a result I cannot open the book I just bought ....

 

I deleted the activation.dat file but every time I register I get the same error again and again.

 

I removed the DAT file,  reinstalled the 4.5.7 and same error.

 

I am lost

Kobo won't open library book because eReader was previously deauthorized

I have a Kobo Glo and I am now getting the following error message "Your eReader is not authorized to open this book. Because you previously deauthorized your eReader, you need to reimport the book using ADE". I have tried reimporting the book, and even returning the book and then reborrowing it before reimporting it to my Kobo. I have tried deauthorizing the reader and then reauthorizing it before reimporting it to my Kobo. Deauthorizing and reauthorizing my Kobo worked a couple of times, but not any longer. I have uninstalled my version of ADE and downloaded and installed the latest version. I have contacted Adobe and they checked my Adobe account and authorizations and was told that I still have unused activations and my authorizations appear to be in order. I can read my books on my MacBook using ADE, and I can even read them using ADE when I click on my Kobo icon in ADE sidebar and open the book. ADE seems to be working as advertised, but my Kobo is not cooperating. I have contacted Kobo as well and they say it's an ADE issue and will not discuss it further. I have not done a factory reset on my Kobo as I don't want to lose all my purchased eBooks. I have checked out a few threads regarding similar issues, but none with my particular error message. Any suggestions are appreciated as I feel I have tried everything, save a Kobo reset, or trashing the Kobo altogether. Thanks

Digital Edition has old email address and I don't have password

An old email address has populated into the authentication and is asking for a password when I try to erase it.  The email address was cancelled about 10 years ago so I can't do a password recovery.  Does anyone know how to get around this?  I can't use my reader and uninstalling and reinstalling gives me the same problem

Digital Editions 4.5 won't open, Windows 7

I purchased a text book in ebook form and the only program they allow to open it is Adobe Digital Editions. When I downloaded Digital Editions 4.5 the installation happened without a problem, but trying to actually open the program is impossible. Nothing even happens. So after research online and quite a few attempts to work around this problem or maybe download an older version, my last effort was to post to the forms. None of those options fixed my problem. Now after many installs and uninstalls I've turned to here. Two weeks into my semester and I haven't been able to read the book, I should've spent a little bit more and had the physical book mailed to me, figured this would've been easier and cheaper. Guess not...

My pdf.acsm is not shown upon Digital Editions.

I use Galaxy Tablet, SM-P585, also known as TAB A6 with S-pen.

I've installed Digital Editions App from GooglePlay.

 

I downloaded my E-book from GoogleBooks into Booktitle-PDF.acsm

I doubleclicked the file, then Digital Editions occured, but there's nothing.

I tried to open it from the start of Digital Editions, but failed; I activated the App alone, and tried to find a menu of "Add new file", but none, just these 4 menues there.

-Recently Added

-Settings

 

How can I activate my Ebook-pdf.acsm downloaded from Googlebooks?

I'm so eager to read and write on the PDF.

Shockingly Buggy - Slow, "Not Responding", Crashing in Windows 10

Adobe Digital Editions rarely functions well in Windows 10. It is constantly freezing and crashing.

 

Is it possible that there is something on my computer systems that is causing this or is this really just terrible software with a monopoly so no desire for Adobe to improve? I've used it on 3 different Windows 10 machines with the same problems (1 older desktop, 1 brand new super fast gaming desktop, 1 brand new mid-range laptop). The only common element between the 3 Windows 10 system that I use is Norton (paid, not the bloatware that comes with Digital Editions). Could this be the problem?

 

I would be embarrassed to be a commercial entity that published a piece of software like this if these problems are widespread.

ASCM Fulfillment no longer working.

A few days ago, the process wherein one clicks on an .ascm file when then fulfills with an .epub file has quit working.  Digital Editions (4.5.7.181275) launches, but that's it.  Nothing comes up; there is no "fulfillment," nothing is spinning - it does not appear to be hung, but it never fulfills the request.  I have reinstalled, tried a 2nd book, but nothing gets fulfilled.  Prior to this happening, I was having problems with returned (library) books re-appearing (although they were not actually on the PC) and I would "delete" them.  But I could still download new ASCM books from the Library and double-click/fulfill them using Digital Editions.  But like I said, a few days ago, that quit working.  Not sure if it is some new Microsoft Upgrade (like they destroyed my ability to use Adobe Reader by forcing all PDF's to go to "Edge") or just some glitch in Digital Editions itself.  Is there a work-around for this, or perhaps an older Digital Editions App that I can download?  Thanks for any help!

I am at my wits end with ADE troubleshooting. Here at least is something that Adobe can fix...

The download weblink for ADE 3.0 is broken (as of 2/27/2018). The ADE download page Adobe Digital Editions | Download has a link near the bottom to ADE 3.0 "Download Digital Edition 3.0here

This sends me to Adobe Digital Editions downloads (www.adobe.com/support/digitaleditions/downloads.html) which is currently just a list of Adobe Product Destinations. Overdrive Help also links to this broken link.

! Please fix this super simple issue asap, Adobe!!!

E AUTH BAD DEVICE KEY

I installed Adobe Digital Editions on my Mac (10.13.2) in order to read an e-book from the library (which I have to do). I had to go through the process of de-authorizing my computer, and then trying to re-authorize with my Adobe ID. The above is the error code I get when I try to authorize.

 

Can anyone help?

Adobe Digital Editions - Unauthorised file

I am having trouble being able to open a ebook downloaded I think as a unauthorised copy. I want to link this to an account but assume this is impossible now... the book cost money and now I am unable to use it with the flexibility I need. Very frustrating.

 

Is there anyone that can help solve this ... ?

How to change the e-book permissions?

Hello Everyone,

 

I have bought an e-book from a Brazilian vendor (Saraiva) and downloaded the acsm file from its online page.

 

After that, I installed Adobe Digital Essentials (Windows 10) and opened the acms file in order to convert to an epub format so I could read it on the Saraiva device (it is called Lev and has ADE support - SaraivaReader ).

 

But, as soon as I started ADE, it asked me to login to my adobe account. So, I inserted my Adobe ID and password and then dropped the acsm file into the ADE.

 

Unfortunately, since I have logged in with my Adobe ID, the acsm file as well as the epub were automatically licensed to it as you can see in the image below:

Now, I can't find a way to license it to my Saraiva account in order to read the e-book in the device. It is very frustrating and annoying. And even if I deauthorized the computer and try to authorize with the Saraiva account, the ADE doesn't allow me to open the acms file on the computer.

 

Would you guys please tell me a solution for this problem? I think that changing the permissions from the file would easily solve the case.

Erase computer authorisation

I can't erase authorisation on my Mac.  I had to install 4.5 because I have brought a new Kobo reader but cannot get it connected/authorised.  I have changed my email address and the computer authorisation is under old address.  I tried to erase authorisation but keep getting the message "unable to erase authorisation. Please try after some time."  Have been trying for 4 days now.  I cannot get my Kobo to authorise either and this is possibly because of the computer authorisation.  I am getting fed up and very frustrated,  it's not user friendly.  I have a brand new Kobo and can't load any library books.  Desperate for help.

"Show Page Number" option not working in Adobe Digital Edition 4.5.7

Hi,

 

I am previewing my ePub file on ADE latest version 4.5.7. This reader has an option "Show / Hide Page numbers" however while clicking on "Show page numbers" option, it is not showing/display any page numbers in ePub.

 

I am wondering if it is a bug in ADE or do we need to include any additional code or file (page-map) in the ePub package.

 

Please advise.

Renewing expired borrowed book

When a book expires and I borrow it again it downloads (and opens) fine to my computer, and appears to transfer to my nook simple touch, but when I go to open it on my nook it still says it's expired.  I tried removing it from the nook library, and copying again, then it says it was returned.  It seems like the record of the original borrow never gets replaced.  I've tried both "replace" and "duplicate" with the same results.  Anybody know how to completely erase the original borrow on the nook so it works like a new one ?

EPUB library downloads can't find ADE

EPUB books downloaded using Overdrive library app download to Overdrive rather than going to ADE.  There must be a setting where I can redirect the EPUB downloads to ADE so I can transfer them to my Nook.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled most current version of ADE.  Can anyone help?  thanks!
