Crashes constantly when using Overdrive books.

As of about 10:00 this evening, Digital Editions has become worse than useless when using Overdrive, the digital library my physical library has a membership in. Every time I try to download an Overdrive book, ADE crashes. When I reopen it, it pretends the book is there--but if I try to open it, it crashes again. Try to move the book to my Nook? Crashes. No fix, no error message--it just freezes for a minute until Windows tells me it's stopped responding.

 

Less troublesome but more annoying, these books stay there. No matter what I do. I'm up to five ghost files in my library (I tested various workarounds to see if any of them would let me use these files). They've all been returned according to the Overdrive catalog. They've all been deleted from my computer and don't even appear in the ADE manifest, and yet, every time I open ADE, there they are. ADE even prompts me every time to be sure I want to delete the files, even though I tell it every time not to ask me again.

 

There is of course the possibility that this is a problem with Overdrive, not ADE. But given that the files are staying in ADE, it seems to be on Adobe's end. I have restarted the computer, uninstalled and reinstalled ADE, installed an older version of ADE that supposedly didn't have the known glitch of leaving deleted files in the library, and deleted every mention of the actual files from my computer. I can easily download other EPUB books and can import those EPUB books to my ADE library without trouble.

 

Any input on what might be causing this or any suggested workarounds is appreciated.


Cannot open any book on ADE (for Mac)

I have purchased a book and tried to open it on ADE. It continually got the error code that it could not open as it did not recognize the registration.  I followed all the advice on these forums and nothing worked (including removing the authorization code and starting over). 

 

Now I am getting another code:

I am beyond frustrated.  I tried to redownload the book, but it won't let me.  I am not impressed with this program at all. 

Digital Editions Bibliothek ist leer / library is empty

Windows 10, Digital Editions 4.5. When I installed Digital Editions everything worked until I downloaded books from the public library with DRM protection. There is no special error message, but my library ist empty now, even the books I bought don't appear. Several times I deauthorized my notebook and authorized it again, Sometimes it works for a short time, but then the books don't appear again, Maybe I used too much licences because DRM doesn't recognize my deauthorizations. Please increase my licenses. My proposal is to give the user the possibility to manage the licenses with the Adobe Account, so one can replace a damaged device with an other.

 

Windows 10, Digital Editions 4.5. Zuerst funktionierte nach der Installation von Digital Editions alles, sobald ich aber Bücher mit DRM Schutz von der onleihe heruntergeladen haben, hat das Programm nicht mehr funktioniert, teilweise konnten die Bücher nicht mehr auf den Reader geladen werden und dann war die ganze Bibiothek leer, die Bücher erscheinen nicht. Ich habe dann auf den PC mehrmals deauthorisiert und wieder autorisiert, dann funktionierte es kurze Zeit, jetzt wieder nicht Vielleicht habe ich zu viele Lizenzen verbraucht, weil Digital Editions nur die Autorisierungen erkennt und die Deautorisierungen nicht. Bitte erhöhen Sie meine Lizenzen, vielleicht liegt es daran. Mein Voschlag wäre, dass man die Möglichkeit bekommt mit dem Adobe Account seine Lizenzen selbst zu verwalten, sodass man wenn z. B. ein Gerät kaputt ist oder man die Autorisierung gelöscht hat durch ein anderes ersetzen kann.

Unable to open ebook on Kobo reader

I am unable to open a ebook I just downloaded from the Library.  It says, "This document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM) and is not currently authorize for use with your Adobe ID. Please sign-in with the authorize Adobe ID and try again. www. kobo.com/help."    I checked my PC and I am still authorized.   Where do I go from here?

I recently purchased an ebook with DRM to read it in my Kobo e-reader, so I downloaded ADE 4.5 but it crashed after page 5.  Following instructions on Kobo forums I uninstalled ADE 4.5 and downloaded ADE 3.0.  It keeps crashing after page 5, both on my ereader and also in the computer using ADE 3.0.  So now I cannot read my ebook at all.  Any suggestions? Thanks.

I was told to post here to get my Adobe Digital Editions activation limit reset. I was having trouble with my Kobo and wiped it/reinstalled ADE too many times while trying to solve my issue. Adobe Digital Editions does not sync across devices

According to the product descriptions and several FAQs I found, it is an alleged feature that when I download media and open it in Digital Editions on, say, my PC, it should sync to my Digital Editions (same ID) on other devices like my tab.

 

I have 'auto-download' enabled. But this syncing doesn't seem to be happening. (Concrete example: I downloaded two library books to ADE on my PC with the same ID I use on my tab, but these books are not showing up on my tablet. The two books that are in my ADE library on the tab are also not showing up in the ADE library on my PC.) I also don't see any 'sync now' button or similar.

 

What am I missing, why is this feature not working?

cannot open library book in ade because I get the message "could not open in adobe acrobat reader".  I know it is supposed to open in ADE so something is wrong and I need very simple explicit instructions on how to fix this problem

Digital Editions not allowing me to view book on Kobo ereader

Hello,

 

As the title says my Adober digital editions does not allow me to read an ebook that I put on my ereader. This has happened in the past and I forget how to fix it, and to be honest I know a number of people that have this issue. Kind of defeats the purpose of having an ereader because adobe puts up all of these major roadblocks. I've now wasted an hour following all of the steps and nothing works. I borrowed the ebook from the library and downloaded it sucessfully to my computer. I can read it on the compute if I open it in digital editions, but if i move it to my kobo ereader from digital editions it won't let me open it in my kobo because it says the device is not authorized. When I go on digital editions I see that both my computer and my ereader have been authorized with my adobe ID. I have tried reinstalling my kobo ereader and redownloading and changing the time etc but nothing works. This is very frustrating so please tell me how to fix this once and for all. Also it would be nice if there was an easier way to get support but I guess less support means less staff and more money for adobe. Nice to know they don't give a damn about users.

Hi, yesterday from play store downloaded the digital edition and I authorized it with my e-mail

 

I downloaded also a purchased book without any problem (from BPP university) and I see all the book.

 

When I open the book I cannot increase the pages with my fingers (zoom) and there are very small letters, also the same problem is also with book "Getting started with Adobe Digital edition".

 

All the other free articles I can increase the screen with my fingers and there is not any problem.

 

Only with Adobe Digital edition in my mobile phone I have this problem. In my PC I correct this with tab change page view and select Zoom 1,5 x.

 

My phone uses Android 7 and it is a Huawei P9 lite.

 

Can someone to help me?

OCSP signer certificaat is uitgegven door Intermediate CA

 

Reden: de CRL van de issuing CA is te groot, hierdoor wordt de PDF file te groot (4 Mb).

 

 

Hoe is het mogelijk om situatie in tekening te realisren, inclusief LTV?


Problems with German Onleihe, ADE 2.0 and 4.5 and Mac OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan

We have been discussing this topic for a while in the German Onleihe User Forum, but nobody seems to be able to resolve it.

 

As it looks right now, everybody with Mac OS X 10.11.2 (or the latest release of Yoseimte aswell) get the same kind of problem when downloading (fulfilling) epub books from the "Onleihe" (which is the provider for eBooks for most of German libraries): Books are downloaded succecssfully (as it seems), the progress bar advances until the end, but then the application just doesn't do anything more. The only option is to forcefully close ADE. This happens both with ADE 2.0 and 4.5, but apparently not with 1.7.2 (which is outdated and cannot be downloaded officially from Adobe anymore).

 

We dug into what could be the reason for this failing, and ended up with the Mac OS X security update from mid December; after installing this, is seems that the problems started to occur. We are talking about this one:

Even more favoring this as a reason for failing, a Lion system I have here (Mac OS X 10.7.5) still works, with ADE 2.0.67275.

Apparently something fails, hangs, is fenced off by Mac OS X or whatever... Note that there is no security log message from Mac OS X in the logs (I could see at least).

 

I hope this is resolved soonish; it's really tedious to have to either use an outdated version of ADE, or dust off a real old and slow computer just to be able to fulfill library books.

Error dialog user not activated?

I cannot get rid of the user not activated error when I open an ebook on my nook.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled ADE.  Unregistered and registered my nook.  Unauthorized and reauthorized my laptop and nook, and yet I still get the user not activated message when i open an ebook.  I can even open the ebook through my nook on the computer and ADE but not on the device itself.  Any ideas?

Adobe Digital Edition crashes when copying text while utilizing a clipboard manager.

Does anyone know how to enable coping text from a non-Protected document in Adobe Digital Editions when using a clipboard manager like (Ditto, 3D Clipboard, or ClipX)?  When any of these clipboard managers are running Adobe Digital Editions will crash when trying to copy text.  If I exit out of the clipboard manager the copy works and Adobe DE stays running.

 

Thoughts?  This my just be a coding issue in DE.  If so, can the technical group at Adobe look into this?  I have reproduced this on different computers running Windows 10 and made sure I was using the latest version of DE.
